Setup
- Get the EQ RoF client. The following magnet link has a heavily modified client with skimpified armor and most of the JasX spell data preinstalled: Magnet link.
- There may be updated JasX server specific files to download. Check the JasX Discord at https://discord.jasx.org to get notified of updates.
- Setup a shortcut: Right click eqgame.exe and pick send to desktop (or create shortcut). Right click the shortcut and pick properties. Then in the target setting, add patchme to the path. Ex:
C:\everquest_rof2\eqgame.exe patchme - Run the shortcut. Go to settings and enable as many visuals as you can, since it's a very old game and you can run them on a potato.
- When logging in, just enter the username and password you want. The account will be auto created if it doesn't exist, but write down the password somewhere. There's no automatic password recovery.
- Note: When logging in again, don't use the auto join button, it's busted on eqemu.
Picking a Class
Before playing, you'll have to create a character. There's a lot of races and classes to pick from. I'd start by checking out the Classes category.
