- Get the EQ RoF client. At this link. http://wiki.ezserver.online/Getting_Started Note: Only do step 1 to download the client. You don't have to use the torrent program in the link. I suggest opening the .torrent file in qbittorrent and delete the rest.
- Get the JasX server files. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dsBCN-YRU9pKw2UXq6s0-qo1kKYDsv5U/view Unzip them in your eq directory and overwrite any files. Join the JasX Discord at https://discord.jasx.org to get notified of updates.
- Setup a shortcut: Right click eqgame.exe and pick send to desktop (or create shortcut). Right click the shortcut and pick properties. Then in target add patchme. Ex:
E:\everquest_rof2\eqgame.exe patchme - Run the shortcut. Go to settings and enable as many visuals as you can, since it's a very old game and you can run them on a potato.
- When logging in, just enter the username and password you want, but write down the password somewhere. There's no automatic password recovery.
- Note: When logging in again, don't use the auto join button, it's busted on eqemu.
Skimpifying armor
I've modified a lot of armor textures to skimpify the armor. Said textures can be located here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xeyftmaX3iLbGyYpuLFlzCxxpqz1msBP/view
Just download it and unzip into your EQ directory, overwriting existing files.
Picking a Class
Before playing, you'll have to create a character. There's a lot of races and classes to pick from. I'd start by checking out the Classes category.
